When I was a baby, Dad borrowed a camera from a friend of his. With this 8 milimiter camera he captured a about 5 minutes of my crawling and messing around. I had transferred the footage onto digital media about 10 years ago. As it is silent, I wanted to have some music put underneath before showing it to my parents some 47 years later. I talked to my friend Volkan Ergen who is not only a percussionist I collaborate with regularly but also who happens to be a good video artist. He is always full of creative ideas. He said “come, give me some footage of your son, and something you play and I will mix it all to make something nostalgic”. He chose my recording of “Coventry Carol” from my “Barokarp” album.
