At the Palais des Nations, Geneva

I was invited to perform a concert on December 17 at the United Nations “Palais des Nations”, presented by the Presidential Office of the Republic of Turkey. I was joined by ney player Kaşif Demiröz on this day, observed as the “Wedding Night”, the day that marks the passing of the great Sufi master Mewlana.

A lovely lunch where I was re-united with my harp teacher between 1980 and 1988, Madame Eisenhoffer after some 31 years.

Aside from the importance of the performance context, Geneva is city in which I lived for more than 8 years where I  had not been able to re-visit in the last 20 years. This is the city where I went to middle and high school as well as got my first degree in harp performance at the Geneva Conservatory. It was an emotional time for me to be united with my teacher at the Geneva Conservatory after so many years, Catherine Eisenhoffer and with great friends and colleagues.

Meeting with President Erdoğan

The day of the performance I also had the privilege of having a short but welcoming conversation with President Erdogan. Thanks to everybody involved to making this event a success.
